Dr. Peter Borwein

Dr. Peter Borwein is the founding Project Leader and is currently the Executive Co-Director of the IRMACS Centre.  He is a Burnaby Mountain Chair at Simon Fraser University and has been a professor in the SFU Mathematics Department since 1993 when he moved from Dalhousie University.  He is also Adjunct Professor in the School of Computing Science.  His research interests span various aspects of mathematics and computer science, health and criminology modelling, and visualization.  For more information, visit Dr. Peter Borwein's Personal Website.

Dr. Jonathan Borwein

Dr. Jonathan Borwein was Shrum Professor of Science (1993-2003) and Canada Research Chair in Information Technology (2001-2008) at Simon Fraser University, and was founding Director of the Centre for Experimental and Constructive Mathematics. In 2004, he (re-)joined the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University as Canada Research Chair in Distributed and Collaborative Research, cross-appointed in Mathematics, with an adjunct appointment at Simon Fraser University. He was born in St Andrews in 1951, and received his DPhil from Oxford in 1974, as a Rhodes Scholar. Prior to joining SFU in 1993, he worked at Dalhousie University (1974-91), Carnegie-Mellon University (1980-82) and the University of Waterloo (1991-93). Currently he is Professor Laureate at the School of Mathematical & Physical Sciences, University of Newcastle, Callaghan, Australia, and Director of the Priority Research Centre for Computer-Assisted Research Mathematics and its Applications (CARMA).
